“The rise of AI and machine learning is enabling new compute capabilities that are disrupting a steadily increasing number of fields. At the same time, the DNNs and LLMs that are powering these transformative changes are exponentially growing in size (doubling every 3-4 months) and the amount of energy that they are consuming is increasing exponentially as well. The current trajectory is not on a sustainable path!
The mission of the JUMP 2.0 SUPREME Center is to address this critical challenge by discovering and developing the Superior Energy-Efficient Materials and Devices that will lead to more energy-efficient computing paradigms that can decrease the rise in energy consumption from compute and enable a more sustainable computing trajectory into the future.”

Roman Caudillo, JUMP 2.0 Executive Director at Semiconductor Research Corporation

“We just had an amazing time at the 2nd Annual Review of SUPREME – a SRC JUMP 2.0 research center. Our local hosts at Massachusetts Institute of Technology were superb, students, PIs and staff alike. About two dozen students toured Analog Devices (ADI) – one of the JUMP 2.0 industry members. We also had three industry perspective speakers from EMD Electronics, RTX, and Analog Devices. The lab tours led by the MIT PIs and students were so popular that we had to offer them again as part of the Review Banquet. We are so proud of the SUPREME students – they are the powerful engines of the future of Semiconductor! We are grateful for this productive partnership with the industry sponsors, Semiconductor Research Corporation, and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).”
